The Origin

Mr. Paul Ogle

Paul Ogle was a generous man with a great vision.  During his lifetime and continuing today through the Vevay-Switzerland County Foundation, Paul Ogle found a way of helping the county accomplish meaningful projects where local funding was limited and the needs of the county were vast.

A native of Vevay, Paul Ogle valued his hometown and surrounding area for its quiet beauty and charm; yet he saw its future burdened by economic underdevelopment.

He envisioned a revitalized economy for Vevay and Switzerland County where they would become a more prosperous place in which to live.

Paul Ogle never forgot where he came from or the people who helped him get there.  He is an example to all who have benefited from his generosity and to the young people of this county who may also have a dream for a better day.

“I’m just glad that I can do something to help the people of Switzerland County.”  Paul Ogle, 1985.
